A Self-Help Guide For Natural Remedies
Abscess Home Remedy
When pus accumulates in a particular part of the body due to infection, an abscess forms. The abscess may be located externally or internally and may result from a lowered resistance to infection that often leads to bacterial contamination or from an injury. The infected part becomes swollen, inflamed, and tender. The victim also experiences alternate bouts of fever and chills.
An abscess can form in the brain, lungs, teeth, gums, abdominal wall, gastrointestinal tract, ears, tonsils, sinuses, breasts, kidneys, prostate gland, or almost any other body part. Infections are the most common human disease and are produced by bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi.
How to cure an abscess? Some abscesses need to be surgically treated, but most require only antibiotics, which destroy the B vitamins as well as the bacteria. Therefore, the diet must be supplemented with products containing "friendly" bacteria such as acidophilus and yogurt. The abscess treatment may require that you get plenty of bed rest, drink plenty of fluids, and either apply ice packs or take hot baths to alleviate the pain.
