A Self-Help Guide For Natural Remedies
Sinusitis Natural Treatment Home Remedy
Seborrhea is a disorder of the sebaceous glands, the glands that secrete oil. Seborrhea occurs on the scalp, face, and chest most often, but can appear on other parts of the body. It is characterized by greasy patches on the body that form scales and crusts. Seborrheic skin is prone to such conditions as alopecia, seborrheic dermatitis, and acne.
There are several types of seborrhea:
Cap'itis. Located on scalp.
Congestive. See Lupus.
Corporis. Located on the trunk
Facier. Located on the face.
Nigra or Nigricans. dark-colored seborrhea.
Oliosa. Seborrhea with an oily content.
Rosacea. Middle-age seborrhea that reappears.
Sicca. Dry form of seborrhea with scales.
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal sinuses that accompanies upper respiratory infection. More than 50 percent of all cases of sinusitis are caused by bacteria. The sinuses affected by this infection include those above the eyes, inside each cheekbone, behind the bridge of the nose, and in the upper nose.
Acute sinusitis is frequently caused by colds or bacterial and viral infections of the nose, throat, and upper respiratory tract. Chronic sinusitis problems may be caused by small growths in the nose, injury of the nasal bones, smoking, and irritant fumes and smells. Allergenic sinusitis may be caused by hay fever and food allergies, especially allergies to milk and dairy products.
Symptoms of sinusitis include headache, earache, toothache, facial pain, cranial pressure, loss of sense of smell, tenderness over the forehead and cheekbones, and occasionally a high fever. Sometimes sinusitis produces a swollen face followed by a stuffy nose and thick discharge of mucus. Antibiotics may be necessary. If drainage is clear after a week, you probably do not have an infection; if mucus is greenish or yellowish, you do. If drainage is clear without a cold, you probably have allergies.
Swelling around the eyes is a serious sign. If left untreated, sinusitis can lead to asthma, bronchitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, pneumonia, or other respiratory disorders.
